Morning’s at Seven
presented by The Villages Theater Company
A charming comedy by Paul Osborn
Directed by Caroline and Ken Hoffmann
Pictured from left to right: Kitty Cozza as Aaronetta Gibbs, Peter Ely as Theodore Swanson, Beth Ely as Cora Swanson, Vanessa Osborne as Myrtle Brown, Jack Filkins as Homer Bolton, Anne Stockton as Ida Bolton, Jack Diehl as Carl Bolton, Martha Manning as Ester Crampton and John Ferris as David Crampton.
Aaronetta and Ida Gibbs have lived next door to each other most of their lives and along with Esther, all of the Gibb sisters are an open book to each. Husbands not included. Into the fray comes Myrtle Brown, perpetually engaged to Ida’s son Homer. But Homer can’t seem to leave the nest. Between Ida’s and Myrtle’s prodding, Homer is forced to make a decision. This perennially charming portrait of small town America seventy five plus years ago will make you laugh out loud and will have you remembering those seemingly uncomplicated times. Mark your calendars for this wonderful production.
The VTC was founded in 1992, incorporated in 2007 and became a 501C(3) public charity in 2014. The money raised from our productions is used to sustain the group and its programs and any money remaining is donated to other charities. In the last five years, over $100,000 has been donated to over 12 different charities. See our website for the list.
Our mission is to provide a quality theater experience for our patrons and the opportunity for Villages residents to learn about and participate in all aspects of play production. This mission is accomplished by producing three major plays with full sets built on the stage, a summer drama, at least three short plays (TwoBuck Tuesdays) that serve as learning workshops where the participants learn by doing and several summer workshops on acting, directing and other aspects of play production. We also have two traveling troupes that can be hired for entertainment for club meetings.
Our group is managed by a board of seven members and ten board assistants who are all volunteers. If you would like to know more about us or become a member, please see our website: www.tvtc.yolasite.com
