presented by Brothers in Song Men's Chorus
The Brothers In Song will present their spring concert, Sacred
Bookends, on Friday, March 29 at 6:00 p.m. at Hope Lutheran Church.
The sixty members strong Villages’ mens chorus will offer up a wide variety of music for this show. The title of the program comes from the two sets of sacred songs at the beginning and end that “bookend” the concert. The first set are contemporary sacred songs including, among others, a new setting of “Amazing Grace”. The last set is made up of spirituals comprised of “Joshua Fit de Battle of Jericho,” “Sometimes I Feel Like a Motherless Child,” “Dry Bones,” and “Amen” which features soloist Mark Steven Schmidt. Between these sets will be folk songs and selections from pop music and Broadway. You’ll hear “Moon River,” “Down in the Valley,” “Ol’ Man River” with soloist George Wood, “Till I Hear You Sing,” by Andrew Lloyd Webber and guest soloist Jill Marese will join the group for a rousing rendition of “Before the Parade Passes By” from Hello Dolly. With more songs thrown into the mix, this varied program is sure to entertain. Don’t miss Brothers In Song as they bring you Sacred Bookends.
