Sensational Singers of The 60s
Mark Lindsay & Freddy "Boom Boom" Cannon with Opening Act Rocky & The Rollers
Mark Lindsay, former lead singer of Paul Revere & the Raiders, singing lead on all their hits….”Hungry”, “Good Thing”, “Kicks”, “Just Like Me”, “ Indian Reservation”, and his monster solo hit “Arizona”. The Raiders recorded a string of garage rock classics, under the guidance of producer Terry Melcher, after the group relocated to Los Angeles and increasingly emulated the sounds of British Invasion bands such as the Beatles, the Rolling Stones, the Dave Clark Five, and the Animals, while adding an American, R&B feel.
Freddy “Boom Boom” Cannon is a true believer, a rocker to the bone. He made great noisy rock & roll records, and all of them were infused with a gigantic drum beat that was an automatic invitation to shake it on down anyplace there was a spot to dance with hits like “Tallahassee Lassie”, “Palisades Park” and “Where the Action Is”, the theme song to the TV show that featured Paul Revere & the Raiders in the mid 60’s. He is the record holder for most appearances on American Bandstand at 110!
