A Good Ol’-Fashioned Hootenanny Benefitting Local Charities The Pops Chorus Folksingers are back for another fun-filled Hootenanny to benefit local charities, sponsored by The Villages Pops Chorus. The groups first three “Hoots” were a big success with audiences and had everyone singing along, clapping to the rousing upbeat music, and reflecting on the beautiful ballads of this special musical era.

The 140 voice Pops Chorus presents concerts that leave the audience smiling, singing, and feeling the spirit of the holiday season. Well-known for the variety of popular music they sing, the Pops Chorus show this year includes many upbeat pieces such as “It’s the Holiday Season”, “Sleigh Ride”, and the Andrews Sisters rousing “Jing a Ling, Jing a Ling”. and Much More! Proceeds from this concert will be donated to Deliver the Difference, and All One Family, Inc

The Village Voices Chorus, accompanied by a full orchestra, will perform an exciting blend of seasonal music including songs by Irving Berlin, traditional carols with new arrangements and of course, Handel’s "Hallelujah Chorus". You will be in the holiday mood hearing "The Night Before Christmas” performed by the orchestra and smile when the Chorus gets a little “Grinchy”. The concert ends with the tradition of the audience joining the choir in singing “Silent Night”.
This concert has it all! An exciting Americana section, a moving set of poems set to music, inspiring sacred music and a medley of songs from the musical “Chicago”. It also features a Latin Mass set to a variety of jazz styles and ends with a tribute to the band “Queen”! What an eclectic mix! The chorus is accompanied by Sean Pollock and a group of professional musicians and conducted by Dr. John T. Lowe Jr.
The Villages Pops Chorus celebrates its fifth anniversary with the Spring Concert “I’ve Got the Music In Me”. In addition to the title song, the 140-person chorus, backed by a 12-piece band, will keep the audience tapping their feet with hits like “Moondance”, “It’s My Party”, and a wonderful swing arrangement of “Just The Way You Look Tonight”. Beautiful ballads are also in the program, including “Love Is a Many Splendored Thing”, “Time After Time”, and the 2018 Oscar winner “Remember Me” from the movie “Coco”.
The group is accompanied by Jo Ann Hanebrink and the 10-piece Pops Chorus Band, featuring some of the best musicians in The Villages. The concert will include a wide variety of well-known songs from the 40’s through the 80’s, including songs from Broadway, the movies, standards, jazz, rock and pop. Proceeds from the concert will benefit Villagers for Veterans and Deliver the Difference.
The Village Voices Chorus, conducted by Dr. John T. Lowe Jr. and accompanied by Sean Pollock presents a magical menagerie of music. This fabulous group of over 100 singers will entertain with an evening of diverse music. The concert includes thrilling classical music and who doesn’t love Motown? Americana section is a touching reminder for all and the music from Broadway’s, “The Lion King” is just plain fun.
The Pops Chorus Folksingers are back for another fun-filled Hootenanny to benefit Tutors for Kids Inc. and All One Family Inc. The Pops Chorus Folksingers, Pops Chorus members who have performed folk songs at many of the Pops Chorus concerts, perform the great folk songs made famous by Peter Paul and Mary, The Kingston Trio, New Christy Minstrels, The Brothers Four, John Denver, and many other musicians of the times. Audiences find themselves singing along, clapping to the rousing upbeat music, and reflecting on the beautiful ballads of this special musical era. “Give a Hoot 6” includes a number of classic folk songs not performed in past “Hoots”, including “Rocky Mountain High”, “Freight Train”, and “The Sounds of Silence”, as well as audience favorites “Puff the Magic Dragon”, “Where Have All the Flowers Gone”, and “Today”. And of course, a lot of surprises and fun! Joining the group will be professional folk singers Playnfoke.
