Singer. Songwriter. Composer. Pianist. Author. These are just a few of the titles that can describe Neil Sedaka. Classically trained at Juilliard, his impressive sixty year career ranges from being one of the first teen pop sensations of the 50’s, a tunesmith for himself and other artists in the 60’s, a superstar in the 70’s, remaining a constant force in writing and performing presently. This is all thanks to the countless songs he has written, performed, and produced that continue to inspire artists and audiences around the world. Introduced to Howard Greenfield by Greenfield’s mother in 1952, he began one of the most prolific songwriting partnerships of the last half-century that sold forty million records between 1959-1963. Sedaka soon recorded chart toppers "The Diary," "Oh! Long considered the "wild man" of Lynyrd Skynyrd, Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee Artimus Pyle's powerful and distinctive double bass drumming helped define the legendary Skynyrd sound. The years Artimus played with Skynyrd were the years that solidified the legend behind the band. Quickly developing into one of the nation's top touring draws with a grueling schedule of 300 shows a year, the constant work and touring paid off. By 1977, Skynyrd’s songs had become radio staples, where they still remain today.

Classic Albums Live takes classic albums and performs them live, on stage—note for note, cut for cut—using the world's greatest musicians. From Craig Martin, founder of Classic Albums Live: “The very first track of [Rumours] lets you know that heartache awaits. It’s not easy to fall apart, then sing about it, then have 25 million people buy it. It was therapy and it paid great. The vocals are tricky; there’s nuance and layering and thunder and the guitars are orchestral. Plus, the vibe of the album—the feel—that’s hard to recreate. What’s cool about this record is that everyone knows all the words, even the ushers at the shows, so when CAL hits the stage and plays this masterpiece it is joyous.”
